Summary

Most of my experience is in the System Engineering business. I now have just about 8 years of professional experience in maintaining servers, workstations, networks and other types of communication.

Due to the diversity in professional areas I got a great amount of experience with a diversity of operating systems and hardware.

My primary goal is to implement and maintain networks, Microsoft and VMware infrastructure, Firewalls, Citrix/XenApp Farms in large versatile environments.

I really love the challenge in doing this.

  My daily tasks consist of:

  • Administering/deploying Windows 2003 and 2008 servers
  • Administering/deploying Citrix/XenApp farms
  • Administering/deploying VMware Infrastructure 3.5/vSphere environment.

  Monitoring remote networks through VPN from the RMS deparment (Remote Managed Services) using HP OpenView products. Mainly OpenView Operations and Network Node Manager.

  I was doing Windows 2000/2003 and Citrix server management. Mostly on a preventative base, no customer would ever be bothered with problems. Cause by the time the customer did notice a problem we were mostly already on the case or we would've solved it already.

  I was hired from OSTECH Automatisering to a few companies, namely: CommuniTower BV, FG Hoogwerk BV, Hendriks Gemert and Square Nederland BV. Here is where I most of my server/network management remotely from the OSTECH office or from my own home. Some stuff couldn't be done remotely, so we did that on a weekly base on location.

  I maintained Windows 2000/2003 servers and their networks here with 50-450 workstations. The servers were mostly Windows 2003 Standard/Enterprise and Small Business.

  System/Network Engineer, mostly on location. Maintaining company networks: making sure they stay up and running. Building/installing workstations/servers. Mostly Windows 98/2000/XP and ofcourse Windows 2003 Server.

  In some cases I also maintained telecommunication solutions like PBX's.

  Spend most of my days in this company developing and designing. Mostly websites: to do this, I programmed in the PHP language.
